Nellie Gonzalez is an Lone Star Emmy and Telly award winner who burst onto the scene as a young actor working in commercials, runway and soon grew into her own television show “OndaTejana,” a show dedicated to Tejano music.

She then chose to take her broadcasting career in the entertainment direction by going on to host syndicated television shows “TV TV,” a variety music show, and “Get Out,” a travel show of US cities and things to do while there.  She has worked in both the English and Spanish markets.

Nellie not only has a very impressive regional presence, she has done many national level projects as well.  Nellie has had featured rolls on television shows such as “24,”with Keifer Sutherland, “Friday Night Lights,” “NCIS,” and has been in such feature films as “Rocketman,” and “The Clean and Narrow,” which she also lined produced and “Triple Cross” in which she had a lead.  Nellie is very devoted and impassioned about her work.

She is a very positive influence to the community.  Nellie was asked to introduce Mayor Bill White at the Hispanic Heritage Awards which was a very proud moment for her because she became part of recognizing the unsung Latin heroes in our community.  Nellie has also emceed and helped raise money for the Kidney Foundation, the American Heart Association, the Star of Hope Mission and Toy for Tots.  In deed she is proud to call herself a Houstonian and has the continued support of its citizens.  Another humbling moment was when she received a Proclamation by Mayor White in her honor by the city.

Nellie is not only an on screen talent, she is an award winning writer and producer with her 35mm short film “Ink on Paper,” which took first place at World fest and Flagstaff Film Festivals, and was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.  She has also written for Nuestro Mundo and RU magazines.  Nellie was the Hosted and co-produce “Houstonisimo” for CBS Khou 11.  “Houstonisimo” is a show that embraces the diverse Latin community in Houston.  As the host, she interviews celebrities, athletes, politicians, chefs and more.  “Houstonisimo” takes viewers to the top Latin restaurants, clubs and festivals that are happening around town and included travel around the U.S. and abroad.  Some of the past guests include, Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino, Rosario Dawson, Kurt Russell, and Freddy Rodriguez, Carlos Mencia, Carlos Lee, Judge Christina and so many more.

This Latin based entertainment show, done in English, is on the cutting edge and Nellie is trailblazing the way for future shows of its kind.  Nellie can also be seen guest hosting on Great Day Houston on channel 11.  She is also the Host of the Earn or Burn Challenge is part of a National Campaign with NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart.  Nellie was cast on the ABC television series ‘The Deep End” covered the 2011 Golden Globes in Los Angeles. More recently she has been cast on “the Lying Game” as Angie for ABC family and is the co-host of Inside Mi Casa en Vivo with Lupe Caseras.
